The mere mention of ‘SARMS’ these days is enough to excite an entire community of fitness buffs and athletes.
And for good reason too.
SARMS are bridging the void between anabolic steroids and bodybuilding supplements.
So, supplement manufacturers are keen to cash in on this buzz and in the process, they are labelling everything they can as a SARM.
Take SR9009 for example.
Also called Stenabolic, SR9009 is often packaged and sold as a SARM (selective androgen receptor agonist), when in reality, it isn’t one.
Instead, it’s a Rev-ERbA agonist.
Knowing the difference will allow you to add this amazing product to your supplement stack and maximize the fat burning and muscle building effects that it has on the body.
Here’s our SR9009 review.
What is SR9009?
As implied earlier, SR9009 is a Rev-ERbA agonist.
In simple terms, it binds itself to the Rev-ERbA protein molecule and activates and amplifies its effects, setting off a series of actions in the human body.
The most desirable amongst which are its ability to increase the production of new mitochondria, while discarding worn out ones, and its ability to boost your metabolism even when you are not exercising. (More on this later)
Think of a body that burns fat even when you are snoozing. Drool!
It was first developed by Professor Thomas Burris for the Scripps research institute and for this reason, you might still find it labelled as a ‘Research drug’.
That’s precisely where the confusion about its connection with SARMS stems from.
While most of the initial research was conducted on mice, the findings were so good that Burris nicknamed SR9009, ‘Exercise in a bottle’.
Treatment of diet-induced obese mice with a REV-ERB agonist decreased obesity by reducing fat mass and markedly improving dyslipidaemia and hyperglycaemia. These results indicate that synthetic REV-ERB ligands that pharmacologically target the circadian rhythm may be beneficial in the treatment of sleep disorders as well as metabolic diseases.
And when you have claims like that being thrown around, the bodybuilding community is going to come knocking sooner or later.
Post the publishing of the research in 2012, SR9009 quickly made it to the ranks of one of the most widely used health supplements.
How to use Stenabolic
Stenabolic has an extremely short half-life of about 4 hours.
This makes it perfect for use as a pre-workout booster.
Just take a dose an hour or two before workout and you will have more energy for your cardio, more strength to lift weights, less fatigue and faster recovery.
Like Burris said, ‘Exercise in a bottle’.
The dosage can vary from 20-40gms depending on your body weight and your fitness goals.
Most experts recommend that you start with a low dose and work your way up to tolerable one.
If it’s the first time you are using SR9009, you can start with a dose as low as 5mg a day and make 5mg increments to it each week.
So, by week five, you should be dosing about 35mg a day which is pretty close to the max recommended dose.
If you notice that anything’s off, just taper it down.
By the way, SR9009 works equally well in a stack and as a solo drug.
A popular AAS cutting stack with SR9009 is Test-E at 350mg a week, Primobolan at 400mg a week and 20mg of SR9009 a day.
When using with other SARMS, SR9009 works well with Ligandrol and Cardarine.
What can you expect after taking SR9009?
Activation of the Rev-ERbA protein has a lot of beneficial effects for the body.
Let’s start with our favorite one.
SR9009 increases the oxidation of glucose in your skeletal muscle which translates into more endurance and stamina for athletes. If you are a marathoner, it will allow you to go for longer distances without getting pooped. If you love your HIIT, it will allow you to go full steam for a longer time frame. Unlike stimulants, it has zero effect on your heart rate. So it’s not a sudden rush followed by a crash. It’s a steady, consistent energy boost that will last for the entire duration of your workout.
Increased metabolic response and glucose oxidation allows your body to tap into the stubborn stored fat reserves. At the same time, you don’t get winded which is what typically occurs when you are on a calorie deficit diet. This makes SR9009, one of the best fat loss enhancer to use when you are cutting.
Your soreness reduces greatly as SR9009 amplifies the removal of worn out mitochondria and stimulates the production of new ones. If you are a power lifter who’s always sore, skip that BCAA bottle for Stenabolic and note the difference.
Improved heart health:
If you are struggling with poor lipid levels then you’d be amazed to know that SR9009 use showed reduced triglyceride and total cholesterol levels in mice within just 10 days. If you are on a heavy AAS cycle, it can wreak havoc with your cholesterol levels. Add SR9009 to the stack to negate some of the damage.
“Our observations that the REV-ERB agonists increase energy expenditure and decrease fat mass, plasma triglycerides and cholesterol levels, suggest that these compounds may be useful in the treatment of metabolic diseases.”
Is it safe for use?
Like most non-approved, research drugs being sold and used in the bodybuilding circuit, access to verifiable and quantifiable data about side effects related to SR9009 is limited.
To add to it, a lot of the SR9009 being sold online is fake which makes it impossible to know what triggered the side effect.
But if you get access to authentic SR9009, it’s a non-androgenic drug that does not alter your hormonal profile, unlike AAS or Prohormones.
Also, in recommended doses, there have been no side effects reported.
It all boils down to this.
Buy from a reputed manufacturer and stick to less than the 40mg per day. Max recommended dose and you should be good to go.
Where can I buy SR9009?
You need a reliable source to buy research chemicals online.
One that does not lace the drugs with prohormones and steroids.
Here’s one that we’ve been using for the past six years.
